You forget why you walked into a room. A familiar name suddenly won’t come to you. You lose a word halfway through a sentence. Or someone reminds you that you already asked the same question.
An occasional memory lapse can happen to anyone. But when these moments begin happening more frequently, become more noticeable, or even start being noticed by the people closest to you, they can be much harder to simply brush aside.
And for anyone already worried about Alzheimer’s or dementia, those small moments can suddenly feel much more frightening.
The frightening part isn’t simply forgetting your keys. It’s wondering why a name you’ve known for years suddenly disappeared, why yesterday’s conversation feels harder to recall, or why something that once came naturally now takes more effort.
That doesn’t mean every memory lapse is Alzheimer’s or dementia. But persistent changes in memory shouldn’t automatically be dismissed as “just getting older.”
Before you brush off what you’ve been noticing, watch the short video below and see why these changes may deserve a closer look.
